Grab Hooks are the most popular and versatile hooks!

Designed with a narrow throat, they are used to shorten or hold a chain in place without slipping.  The most popular grab hook is the Clevis Grab Hook, which features clevis end connections allowing for quick and easy attachment and removal from chain.

These rigging hooks come in several grades and sizes.

The grade 70 grab hooks. not for lifting applications, are also known as transport hooks or trucking hooks.  Used with the same grade of chain, grade 70 chain, these are most common for transportation applications on trucks, tow trucks, flatbed trucks, and other tie-down applications that require chains rather than straps.

Lifting grab hooks are made with alloy steel and are available in grade 80 or grade 100.  Note not all grade 80 or 100 hooks are for overhead lifting!  These hooks come in 2 styles:  Standard grab hook or Cradle grab hook.  The cradle grab hook is casted in the middle so the chain can lie on it.  This specific design allows for 100% efficiency with no loss in working load limit.  Making the cradle grab hook the most popular for lifting applications.
